How long will it take?

The Census will take a maximum of 15 minutes to complete.


How long is the survey open?

The survey was launched on 24 June 2019 as part of the centenary celebrations of the Women’s Engineering Society. It will remain open for around four months to ensure that there is a large response from across the many sectors in which engineers work and that there is time for word of mouth to spread news of the survey. Initial results will be published in late 2019/early 2020.


I’ve not got an engineering qualification.  Do you want to hear from me?

If you are working as an engineer we want to hear from you whatever the subjects of your qualifications.


Who is eligible to complete the survey?

If you are doing engineering work or consider yourself to be an engineer we’d love to hear from you


What if I’m not working at the moment?

If you’re on a career break for whatever reason and intend to return to engineering, we’d love to hear from you.


I have just retired / left should I contribute?

Yes! We want to hear about what you have done and how long you did it for. If you left and it wasn’t for retirement – why did you leave?


When does the survey close?

The survey will be open for four months. It was launched on 24 June 2019.


What will happen to any data I contribute?

Your data will be held anonymously by the contractor (Katalytik). Respondents are asked if they would like to be kept informed about the timing of the report. Any contact details submitted will be held under the (GDPR compliant) Katalytik privacy policy and will be deleted from our servers on 31st December 2020. The anonymous data will be held securely for seven years.

At the end of the survey you will be redirected back to this website and you may then choose to register with WES directly for survey updates.
